What is KVPY?

What do you get? Students who crack KVPY are eligible for scholarships upto the pre Ph.D levels.

KVPY Selection procedure:
KVPY is conducted in two rounds – Aptitude Test and Personal Interview. While the aptitude round checks your knowledge across various subjects, the interview tests your knowledge in science and research. For receiving the fellowship, both aptitude test and interview marks are considered
- SA is for students pursuing Science stream in class 11
- SX is for students pursuing Science stream in class 12
- SB is for students pursuing Science stream in first year of graduation
Preparation tips for KVPY
- Maintain a strong concept foundation
Having a good command over concepts is considered to be the most important aspect of preparing for KVPY. Stick to the syllabus and put in your undivided attention while studying.
- Approach towards solving the problems
The biggest edge that JEE aspirants have in KVPY exam is the problem-solving approach developed while preparing for JEE. If you are preparing for JEE, half of your walk is already done.
- Strengthen fundamentals from good books
For strengthening the fundamental concepts, NCERT books are considered to be the best. However, there are a few other books that are beneficial for JEE preparation as well. You should refer more comprehensive books for getting a deeper understanding.
- Solve previous year papers and mock tests
As the aptitude test for KVPY is online, it is very important to get well versed with the online mode of examination. This can be practiced well by solving KVPY mock tests and analyzing your test performance
- Develop research knowledge for interviews
As the interview is said to have 25% weightage, build your research knowledge and try to explore the recent developments in field of science and technology.
